Disaster and Fire Safety Commission

Advises the City Council on all matters affecting fire safety and/or disaster resilience within Berkeley.

Serves as the citizens’ oversight committee for expenditure of the proceeds of the Special Tax to Fund Fire Protection and Emergency Response and Preparedness, as set forth in BMC Section 7.81.060.

Meetings

Meetings are generally held the 4th Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm, but the schedule can vary due to holidays and seasonal breaks. Meetings are held in-person at the Fire Department Training Facility, 997 Cedar Street.
